The climatic changes as signified by global warming is concern that face human kind. The changes in weather, soil fertility, rain patterns especially reduction in rainfall, vegetation cover and pollution with its effects to human beings call for action. FGCK has rolled out an environmental project targeting the Northern Kenya communities and those where poverty level is high. The goal is to improve on the communities’ livelihood by harnessing available water, try dry land crop cultivation for enhanced food security, plant appropriate trees for environmental and soil change.
The project started 2011 with four pilot sites located in selected environmental zones (Waita in North Eastern Kenya; Kalare in Marsabit North eastern; Tangulbei in Baringo and Natoot in Turkana both in Northern Kenya. Other target areas are Nairege Enkare in Narok and Kivaa in Yatta district.
