- Gender
Based Violence Working group, Dagoretti
- Maisha Poa and all organizations working
in Dagoretti District, hosts a working group for organizations working against
gender based violence. This is due to the high incidences for rape especially
against young girls and sexual abuses against the boys. The organization also participates in the
national cluster for gender based violence hosted by the Gender Commission,
monthly. Activities of the network
include rescue of abused children, legal support, rehabilitation, counseling
and capacity building for different actors in the community. This working group started in 2010 after
Maisha Poa Centre, Fida International, other organizations and the Gender
Commission, Ministry of Gender and Social Services, co hosted the Launch of the
16 Days of activism against gender Violence. Write to us if you are interested in supporting
the work of Dagoretti gender based violence network.
